The department is excited to present a new video series on our official YouTube Channel, featuring interviews with students and short videos on topics and approaches to art history. Videos are divided into two categories.

Student Interviews

The University of Toronto's Department of Art History is made up of a welcoming and passionate community of students, staff, and faculty committed to quality education. Our rich and rewarding learning environment fosters creativity, critical thinking, and intellectual curiosity. We are excited to share the creativity and curiosity of some of our members in this video series. Art History students speak about their personal experiences in the departmental community, as well as the kinds of career opportunities opened by the Art History degree. We hope that these videos will help connect you with the people who make our academic home such an enriching place and bring its broad and diverse network to life.

Art History in 10

Because there is an almost unlimited number of different ways to approach the study of art, art history is multi-faceted and interdisciplinary— which is why it is such a fascinating and dynamic field! To provide some insight into the various perspectives, techniques, and methods employed by art historians today, faculty members and graduate students from the Department of Art History at the University of Toronto speak about some of their favoured approaches in short, digestible videos. In just 10 minutes, we hope that you will learn a little more about specific areas of art historical investigation that you too could implement in your own research or teaching.
