Canadian Association of Neo-Latin Studies Conference
When and Where
Description
This conference represents the inaugural meeting of the Canadian Association of Neo-Latin Studies/Association canadienne d’études néo-latines. The bilingual nature of this gathering reflects the significant contributions Canadian researchers have made in both official languages in the field of Neo-Latin. However, despite the past efforts of individual Canadian scholars in English and French, there has long been a need for a broader national forum for intellectual exchange concerning the study of Latin in the Renaissance. To remedy this situation, this conference brings together Canadian researchers on Neo-Latin in six disciplines: Classics, English, French, History, Italian and Translation Studies. In the spirit of the Respublica litterarum, we happily acknowledge the participation of international researchers from France, Germany and Italy. Similarly, we welcome all those interested in Neo-Latin Studies to join us for the launch of this Canadian learned society.
