This session will explore various aspects of the enslaved experience in Canada. Fugitive slave advertisements are a source of details about the lives of the enslaved that might otherwise be lost to history, telling a story of resistance beyond the Plantation or Underground Railroad. This lecture will examine these notices, along with other archival documents, to explore various aspects of the enslaved experience in Canada.
