The Universities Art Association of Canada (UAAC-AAUC) is pleased to announce its 2021 annual conference dates: October 20–23, online. The 2020 online conference welcomed a record number of registrants worldwide with increased accessibility and participation and a wonderfully connective series of sessions, workshops, and keynotes. The 2021 online conference will be just as lively, if not more.
For the 2021 online conference, panels, roundtables and workshops are invited that interrogate historical and contemporary art history, visual and material culture, creative studio practice, design practice, theory and criticism, pedagogy and museum and gallery practice. As a virtual conference, UAAC-AUUC is open to sessions that reflect the pivot to online teaching, curatorial practice and research practices within the discipline. They particularly welcome sessions that focus on areas that have not been strongly represented at previous UAAC conferences, such as Indigenous scholarship and practices, scholars, artists/theorists dealing with race(ism), immigration and diaspora.
Further conference details are forthcoming.
