The Department of Art History is happy to share that PhD Candidate, Ivana Dizdar, has curated the exhibition The Clichettes: Lips, Wigs, and Politics, on view at the McMaster Museum of Art until November 8, 2024.
This is the first retrospective of the renowned Canadian performance art trio the Clichettes, who collaborated from the late 1970s to the early 1990s, making work at the intersection of theatre, lip-sync, dance, drag, costume, and comedy. Ivana is also the editor of a fully-illustrated catalogue with contributions by Lillian Allen, rl Goldberg, John Greyson, Marni Jackson, Mark Kingwell, Wanda Nanibush, and Alexandra Schwartz.
The opening reception and book launch is on September 19 (5 - 8 pm), and all are welcome to attend.
