The Federated Academic Digital Imaging System (FADIS) was a collaborative online database management system of more than 150,000 works of art from virtually every period, culture, and discipline. An important teaching and research tool, it included still images, sound, and video. FADIS was responsive and timely—images ccould be made available quickly and efficiently. Its content was largely tailored to current teaching and research needs, but it also constituted a valuable image archive. FADIS also provided teaching and review tools for classroom presentation and study, as well as offering personal image storage and use. PLEASE NOTE: FADIS has now been decomissioned, and the departmental and university image collections moved to JSTOR. Click here for information on accessing the image collection via JSTOR.
